Position Summary:

General Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Manager-Security Operations, performs a variety of duties related to the functioning of the Security Operations Center such as, monitoring surveillance cameras and alarm monitors, operating a variety of communications equipment to provide general information and notification of emergency situations, and maintaining vehicle registrations and log books.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers. Gives priority attention to Safety and Security Hotline.
2 Provides assistance, guidance, and direction to patients and /or visitors. Ascertains the nature of their business; assists and/or directs patients and/or visitors to various locations in the building when appropriate. Calls for an escort when necessary.
3 Notifies police in case of theft, breaking and entering or other matters requiring notification of police.
4 Monitors surveillance cameras and alarm monitors.
5 Reports safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
6 Prepares crime, injury and incident reports. Maintains records on vehicle related issues.
7 Issues parking privileges and handles registration and vehicle identification.

Required Skills

Minimum Education                High School or G.E.D.


Minimum Experience            3 - 6 months


Required Certification        CPR; Level I (OSHA) chemical spill


Basic computer skills; good verbal and written communications skills


Must possess a valid driver’s license in the current state of residence.  Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
