Respiratory Care Manager - Durable Medical Equipment - Day

Location: WellSpan Health, Ephrata, PA

Rotation: Availability to support team

General Summary

Manages and supervises personnel and activities related to clinical respiratory services.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs the daily functions of the respiratory therapists and respiratory support staff.
  • Creates an environment that is conducive for teamwork, communication, collaboration, and excellent patient experiences.
  • Oversees implementation of regulatory compliance guidelines in every aspect of patient data collections, interactions, and education.
  • Schedules staff to ensure adequate timelines are met for equipment setup and branch locations are sufficiently staffed.
  • Supervises training, orientation, and continuing education for respiratory therapists, and support staff. Assists in educating customer service staff for product awareness and recognition.
  • Oversees that all completed patient setup data is processed to the billing department within twenty-four hours after patient setup.
  • Collaborates with other managers to provide seamless transitions of patient data, equipment selection, inventory stocking, product recalls and troubleshooting.
  • Supervises respiratory therapists, and respiratory support staff in their daily patient interactions.
  • Coordinates relationships between respiratory and rehab staff and other departments to ensure seamless process for positive patient experiences.

Common Expectations:

  • Recommends staffing levels, selects, trains, orients and evaluates annual performance of staff.
  • Participates with other managers and Sr. Director in selecting products for enhancing patient care.
  • Manages all supportive programs for patient compliance, data collection, and program evaluation.
  • Assists with data collection for budget development.
  • Contributes to policy and procedure development and review.
  • Assists with accreditation survey readiness.
  • Assumes leader responsibility in absence of Senior Director.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Associates Degree Required

Work Experience:

  • 10+ years Respiratory experience. Required and
  • 5 years Durable Medical Equipment Respiratory experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire Required

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, managerial, and computer skills.
  • Multi-tasker, flexible with work schedule and assignments.
  • Detail oriented and very organized.
