Rehabilitation Medicine Technician - York Hospital - Day
Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, therapist or therapist assistant, performs general, non-technical duties. Assists therapists and/or therapist assistants in preparing patients for therapy, treating patients, gathering supplies and preparing documentation.
The selected candidate will work primarily weekend shifts and must have the availability to start at 6 am. They will also occasionally work weekday shifts.Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Accountabilities:
- Assist all staff with other tasks. Ask team members if assistance is needed.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of department/entity equipment and supplies.
- Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
- Performs related duties such as photocopying, as well as other duties assigned.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as identified.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education:
- High School or G.E.D.
- Required Certification:
- CPR certification
- Minimum Experience Required:
- 1 - 3 months
- Physical Demands:

- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
- Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients, up to 50 pounds
- Lifts supplies/equipment
- Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Intermittent exertion when performing treatments
- Occasional heavy physical effort (lift/carry 26 to 50 lbs)
- Skills:
- Demonstrates good communication skills
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management. Willing/able to drive in varying weather conditions and in urban/rural settings.
