Job Description:

Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in the products and services of the department. Provides proper application of product to fit customer.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Efficiently handles incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
  2. Greets people, in person and by telephone. Answers their questions or refers them to appropriate staff members.
  3. Orders customer supplies timely and accurately.
  4. Conveys messages to appropriate staff with accuracy and on time.
  5. Schedules appointments, as needed
  6. Fits patient with product assuring proper fit and application checking with customer for comfort.
  7. Conducts transactions in a professional manner.
  8. Educates customer on proper use and application of product according to manufacturer's guidelines
  9. Researches product information for customer or while assisting other employees
  10. Shows a self-initiative to learn about new products, applications, and regulatory guidelines.
  11. Presentation of equipment or product is done in a professional manner
  12. Referral sources are communicated with on a regular basis
  13. Referrals contacted for liaison purposes and for referring. Making self-available for contact.
  14. Reviews and Assessments are scheduled within appropriate timeframes to meet the patients’ needs
  15. Delivers or makes delivery arrangements within time frames to meet patients needs
  16. Understands equipment assembly and adjustment
  17. Mobility product adjustments can be made to meet the customers’ requirements
  18. Mobility product representation includes an understanding of product application
  19. Asks customer if they had same or similar product in the last five years
  20. Has current authorization number on file for insurance companies.
  21. Takes referral orders while transcribing information correctly
  22. Always verifies insurance coverage before delivery
  23. Always informs patient of financial responsibility before delivery
  24. Sets up equipment in accordance with manufacturer and Wellspan Medical Equipment guidelines.
  25. Setups are completed in a timely manner in accordance with patients’ needs.
  26. Educates patient, family, or caregiver on Physicians orders, procedures, maintenance, and proper use of equipment based on patient’s age, size, weight, disease process and demonstrated needs.
  27. Follows up within a timely manner according to referrals perception.
  28. Submits patient data in timely manner to prevent timely filing error.
  29. Completes all assigned paperwork pertinent to product dispensed.
  30. Sets priorities appropriately.
  31. Ensures Patient’s chart has all required documents to bill insurance.
  32. Completes forms and/or sales order if information is missing as required documentation.
 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Customer Service preferred
  • Home Medical Equipment background or product knowledge preferred
