Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse

 

Monday-Friday 6:30-5 

10-HR shifts/Weekday

Weekend, Holiday On-Call required

On-Call requirements, must be onsite within 30 minutes after being called

  • 3 Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory suites perform cardiac catheterization procedures, permanent pacemaker implants, AICD implants, Electrophysiology studies, ablation procedures, and carotid stenting.
  • 13 bay pre/post patient care area
  • Perform TEE and cardioversion procedures
  • Orientation is a 16 week to 6-month orientation to all aspects of the department.
  • Each staff member participates in the on-call rotation.
  • Nursing care delivered to adults 18 years or older.  No pediatric procedures.

Position Function:   The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing and coordinating the care of patients through the use of the nursing process:  assessment, planning implementation and evaluation.  Included is recognition and treatment of the physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit.

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

  • Previous nursing experience in specialty area preferred
  • One year of acute care nursing experience (ED, Cath Lab, CCU, IMCU, Tele Observation) preferred. 

Certifications/Licensure

  • Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • Certification in specialty preferred
  • CPR certification required
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitor interpretation, conscious sedation and ACLS required or achieve within 6 months of hire/transfer
