Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health Extended Acute Inpatient - Day/ Evening

Full time (72 or 80 hours biweekly)

8 or 12-hour shifts; 3 am - 3 pm or 3 pm to 11:30 pm

Every other weekend and rotating holidays

 

As a part of WellSpan Philhaven, The Extended Acute Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is situated on the main Mt Gretna, PA campus which is a tranquil setting with walking trails nestled within a picturesque forest and adjacent to an operating farm. Clients often comment that this campus provides an atmosphere of peace and serenity for them.

The Extended Acute Unit consists of:

  • A 40 Bed Inpatient Unit, providing psychiatric care for ages 18 through older adults with chronic and persistent mental illness
  • Has an interdisciplinary team approach to care, providing a therapeutic milieu to provide a safe treatment space for our patients
  • Runs therapeutic groups and family treatment with a multi-disciplinary group of staff

Position Function:

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing and coordinating the care of patients through the use of the nursing process:  assessment, planning implementation and evaluation.  Included is recognition and treatment of the physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience:
    • No experience required
  • Minimum Education:
    • Diploma or Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Education:
    • Bachelors of Science, Nursing (BSN)
  • Required Certification:
    • Registration and current RN license in PA; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
