40 hours bi-weekly





General Summary:

Under general supervision, collects, analyzes and processes patient medical information to ensure the completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation.


Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Assembles medical records and analyzes for quantitative deficiencies per applicable regulations. Forwards completed
records for processing.
2 Assigns deficient records to appropriate physician for completion.
3 Prepares and scans patient records according to established procedures.
4 Prepares and distributes documents such as physician reminder notices, suspension lists, and/or other controlling
5 Retrieves records from various areas for processing. Secures elusive records needed for abstracting and billing prior to
closing out the month.
6 Performs related clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, answering telephones, setting up/maintaining files and
distributing incoming mail and reports.
7 Posts data to various records and forms, makes and maintains charts, gathers data from various sources and prepares
reports, answers and files correspondence and performs similar duties requiring the exercise of clerical and office skills.
8 Performs light typing, operates a PC, scanner or related office equipment in fulfilling work assignments.
9 Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.
10 Maintains records, checks data and prepares standard reports.

Required Skills

High School Diploma or GED, College level course in medical terminology, coursework in anatomy and physiology.
