General Summary:



This position provides clerical support including, but not limited to scheduling, checking in patients, insurance verifications/authorization, and collecting payments. In addition, this office assistant will assist with laboratory and electrocardiogram services as needed.



Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Admits all patients into computer while verifying all patient demographic, explaining forms and obtaining necessary signatures including patient/legal representative signatures. Confirms authorization requirements.
  • Verify accuracy of the patient’s personal and insurance information, obtaining copies of insurance cards and all necessary forms.
  • Pre-register patients for exams.
  • Assures the accuracy with registration QA is at 95%.
  • Schedules patients, verifying preps and assuring patient’s understanding. Interacts professionally with the technologists to coordinate requests.
  • Ensures all requirements are met for a proper order.
  • Process payments when necessary and issue receipts.
  • Minimizes in/out time.
  • Ensure the accuracy of POS payment collections.
  • Properly identifies patient using name and DOB.


Required Skills

Minimum Education:             

High School Degree or equivalent



Minimum Experience          

On the job training provided

1 Years clerical experience               

Phlebotomy and EKG skills Preferred but not required

Proven knowledge of MS Office Products



Req. Cert/Registration        

BLS certification or ability to obtain within introductory period




Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills

Knowledge of and ability to use radiology information systems, radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment, paging system copier, beeper, personal computer, fax
