Radiation Therapist II 
Full Time 
Day Shift 
Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 5:00pm

Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor-Radiation Therapy, provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physician according to Wellspan Oncology Servile Line established standards and practices. Performs CT-simulation procedures and/or other treatments/procedures requiring specialized skills/training at an advanced skill level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients; obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedure.
  2. Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, etc.
  3. Prepares room and equipment for patient.
  4. Reinforces recommendations given to patient by the physician, nurses, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects.
  5. Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events.
  6. Performs IGRT procedures for tumor localization.
  7. Prepares patient and equipment for, and performs simulation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program
  • ARRT(T) registration
  • BLS certification required within six months of date of hire
  • Appropriate training in radiation therapy; appropriate specialized training
  • 3 - 5 years experience 
  • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
