RN - Cardiology Nurse - Day

Part time (32 hours biweekly)

Work days:       primarily Monday and Friday

Flexible to cover other scheduled shifts

Primarily 8am-4:30pm with potential of working 7am-3:30pm or 7:30am-4pm

 

Job Description:

RN    Under the general supervision provides professional nursing assessment, judgement, and intervention skills for the Cardiology department, as well as performing studies used in the diagnosis of heart/vascular disease and electrical/mechanical heart abnormalities.

 

Duties and Responisbilities

  1. Responsible for responding to urgent/emergent situations during testing. Functions independently following ACLS and department protocols.
  2. Safely & independently administers medications during procedures according to standardized protocols and physician orders. Monitors patient hemodynamic status during pharmacological stress tests and TEE/Cardioversions.
  3. Reviews patient history and risk stratification for appropriateness of test ordered.
  4. Utilizes nursing process to provide quality, compassionate care in a safe environment.
  5. Maintains documentation in patient record.
  6. Follows radiation safety polices as outlined.
  7. Proficient at starting IV’s.
  8. Assists other staff in the department with patient care and & daily tasks when needed.
  9. Notifies and collaborates with physician when further patient evaluation/intervention is needed.
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2-3 years of acute care or cardiology experienced required
    • Req Cert/RegistrationCurrent RN license in PA; ACLS certification.
  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate’s Degree
    • Preferred EducationBachelors of Science, Nursing (BSN)
