Full Time (40 hrs/week)

Day Shift: 8a-4:30p Monday - Friday. No holidays or weekends.

Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager-Wound Management Center, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients in the Wound Healing Center. Meets established Standards of Nursing Practice in the management of assigned patients. Assists the physicians with the development and implementation of wound treatment plans and participates in performance improvement review activities. Acts within the guidelines of federal and state laws, JCAHO standards and professional and ethical practice.


Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Accountabilities:

  1. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  2. Assesses, stages, grades, measures and photographs wounds accurately and in accordance with appropriate policy(ies).
  3. Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients' conditions and develops individual care plans for patients.
  4. Triages telephone calls and assists with scheduling.
  5. Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment.
  6. Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
  7. Arranges for patients' ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  8. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
  9. Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
  10. Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties.
  11. Assists attending physicians and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.
  12. If requested, will take a 40-hour face to face Introductory Course for Hyperbaric Medicine (recognized by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society) to assist with hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment as indicated. May monitor hyperbaric dives as requested after completion of required competencies.


  • Minimum Experience:
    • 1 - 2 years of RN experience
  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate's Degree
  • Required Certification:
    • Registration and current RN license in PA; BLS certification
  • Required Courses:
    • If monitoring HBO: Complete at least a 40-credit-hour, NBDHMT-approved Hyperbaric Medicine Introductory Course
