Job Description:

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of duties relative to cleaning, performing preventative maintenance, storing and/or sterilization of equipment, delivery of acutely needed and chronic equipment to clinical respiratory therapists. Manages and prepares purchase orders to vendors when stock items reach reorder point.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Delivers and cleans equipment in CSR department on a daily basis.
  2. Checks equipment supply and accessories on a regular basis – restocking of Flolan delivery boxes, External Transport Bag.
  3. Takes inventory and restocks Flolan Delivery Boxes and External Transport Bag.
  4. Picks up, cleans, and redresses ventilators, CPAP/BIPAP and other therapy equipment for use by Respiratory Therapists.
  5. Ensures equipment checked and functioning properly and is stored appropriately.
  6. Regular sterilization process and cleaning of specialized equipment used by Respiratory Therapy that is not done in the CSR area.
  7. On call throughout the day to Respiratory Therapists to deliver acute and/or chronic equipment where needed throughout the hospital.
  8. Stocking and delivery of oxygen tanks to all areas of the hospital including general floor areas, ICU’s, and most other clinical procedure areas within the hospital.
  9. Acts as preceptor to Respiratory Students on their Equipment clinical rotation through the Respiratory School.
  10. Uses Lawson ordering system for maintaining the correct par levels of equipment, with records of purchase orders, back orders, etc.
  11. Places work orders as needed to Biomed for equipment repair and maintenance.
  12. Utilizes established rental process of equipment to order and/or return to rental service.
  13. Uses Cetani computer systems and Equipment Tracker to manage and track the location of equipment throughout the hospital.

Qualifications:

  • 1 - 3 months experience 
  • High School or G.E.D.
  • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
