Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Behavioral Health or After School Program Manager assists the professional staff in the care of psychiatric patients. Facilitates the maintenance of the therapeutic environment in the After School Program.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Accountabilities:

  1. Provides care to patients in a manner that considers safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
  2. Assists the team members in the care and evaluation of patients.
  3. Charts observations on assigned patients' in legible, accurate and appropriate format following hospital and unit procedures.
  4. Works with children & adolecents in a Therapeutic After School environment
  5. Runs therapeutic groups for children & adolescents
  6. Works collaboratively in a team atmosphere
  7. Works as part of community-school initiative
  8. Emphasis on trauma-informed care and evidenced based curriculums
  9. Monthly training & supervision provided
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 1 - 3 months
  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Required Courses:
    • Must provide clearance per the Child Protective Services Law amended by PA Act 33 of 1985
  • Must have valid driver's license in state of residence. Must qualify for driving privileges with WellSpan Risk Management.
