Position Summary:


General Summary:
Under general supervision, leads a team of project managers who work with business and clinical sponsors to ensure that large, complex Information Technology and Business projects and programs deliver expected business value and are considered successes. Contributes to a body of knowledge of the Systems project experience and works with Project Management Office (PMO) Leadership to maintain, update and evolve policies and procedures of the WellSpan Project Management Office. Facilitates excellent teamwork within project teams and with customer teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Supervises a team of project managers by: making work assignments; developing project and program specific goals; completing performance reviews; and managing, leading and mentoring staff.
2 Manages business and clinical projects by managing relationship with customer; and ensuring business case and project benefits and requirements are defined, developed and met through achievement of agreed upon outcomes.
3 Manages projects and programs to completion according to an approved, agreed upon work (project) plan and budget. Assigns tasks to team and controls workloads; develops implementation, maintenance and support plans; tracks issues and risks, escalating when required. Manages relationships between project team members.
4 Keeps stakeholders apprised of project status, risks, and issues needing intervention.
5 Ensures that the project assigns and orients the appropriate operations staff to sustain the product upon project completion.
6 Ensures that knowledge gained from project experience is reused in subsequent projects by: ensuring complete project documentation; collecting data from project activity; facilitating team collaboration; and ensuring lessons learned are captured and reused.
7 Ensures quality of projects by adhering to the WellSpan Project Methodology and Project Management Institute standards and correcting deviation from standards. Works directly with PMO Leadership to continually enhance system project and portfolio methodology, processes, and tools, to support Project, Program and Portfolio Management best practices.
8 Develops and executes Project Management training and socializes the importance of Project Management to the organization.


Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree Required 8 - 10 years Proven Project Management of complex projects. Healthcare and Computer Science experience preferred. Business or Systems Analyst background preferred. Knowledge of Facilities, Finance and HR is a plus. PMP certification or equivalent certification or experience. 

Ideal Applicants hold PMP or similar certifications this is preferred.
