Job Description:

Under the general supervision of service line leadership; develops, implements and manages the comprehensive digestive health services program across the System.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. In collaboration with the service line leadership team, assumes responsibility for the development, implementation and program management of the system-wide WSH digestive health program.
  2. Provides leadership for clinical and administrative process redesign.
  3. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  4. Coordinates and facilitates patient and care team ease of use, patient access, effective communication, and information flow between all relevant care settings as needed.
  5. Provides matrixed oversight to digestive health practice, procedural facility, and inpatient management teams and/or clinicians at each WellSpan site as needed
  6. Ensures appropriate degree of consistency and standardization of the program in each market across the System.
  7. Leads appropriate teams and committees to facilitate standardization of best practices and collaboration in digestive health practices, procedural facilities, and hospitals across WellSpan Health
  8. Ensures that processes and programs are in place to support the success of the digestive health program with all participating hospitals.
  9. Serves as a liaison with non-WellSpan providers, centers, clinics, government agencies and associations as needed
  10. Serves as a liaison between the digestive health program and medical group operations as needed.
  11. Is an active member of hospital and community committees that are related to digestive health patient care and community awareness, represents the program at local, state and national meetings.
  12. Assists with the development of the annual budget related to the program under oversight, both operating and capital expenses. Ensures quality care is given while maximizing financial reimbursement and developing opportunities for cost savings.
  13. Works with Marketing staff to effectively educate community and referring physicians about program.
  14. Maintains awareness of market share to assess competitiveness of service; develops and implements plans to optimize market share of digestive health services.
  15. Assists with the development and/or updates of required documents for regulatory and/or accreditation bodies such as Joint Commission, Department of Health, etc. Works with entity management to ensure that all mandated measures are collected and submitted in a timely basis and the hospitals are prepared for site visits.

  17. Facilitates the collection of performance measures to serve as a means to evaluate overall customer satisfaction, financial performance and long term outcomes. Utilizes measures to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  18. Organizes services in a manner to ensure timely and appropriate access and triage of services.
  19. Ensures compliance with the most recent billing and coding standards.
  20. Develops and facilitates ongoing professional education programs for key stakeholders across the system.
  21. Develops and implements patient educational material for patients as needed.
  22. Demonstrates motivation for learning through independent reading, professional networking and attending relevant conferences and seminars.
  23. Develops, coordinates and participates in community awareness programs about digestive health as needed.
  24. Serves as the expert on all aspects of digestive health to health care professionals, staff, patients, families and the community.
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 10 years managing a clinical program
  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree
