Physician Office Liaison

Job Description:

Under general supervision, develops and implements a marketing and sales plan to maintain and grow referrals from physicians and their office staff to System programs. Reaches out through direct communication, site visits, information distribution, staff education and problem solving to develop relationships, gain feedback, share news and help physicians and office staffs’ navigate and establish linkages throughout the System based on their needs.


Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Works closely with assigned clinical programs to understand their program and goals and to identify and prioritize referring physicians and their offices. 2Develops and implements specific outreach, relationship building and marketing plans to meet goals, in collaboration with Public Relations and Communications.
  2. Works collaboratively with other System functions which interact with physician offices, including hospital medical affairs, physician referral, physician recruitment etc..
  3. Establishes and maintains ongoing communications with referring physicians and their office staffs, including routine or follow-up visits, phone calls and visits.
  4. Links physician offices to other System services or programs which meets their needs, such as information systems, educational meetings and clinical programs.
  5. Measures and evaluates liaison activities including producing and sharing regular summaries of visits and their outcomes as well as their impact on referral trends.
  6. Responds promptly when possible to issues raised during site visits by working with clinical areas to resolve issues and report back to physician offices.
  7. Works with leadership team and consultant to evaluate current physician liaison pilots, audit physician office support and interactions across the system and develop a three-year strategic plan (priorities, ROI, infrastructure).

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 5 - 8 years experience working with physicians, office staffs or other medical specialties


  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Communications/sales/marketing

    • Excellent communications/interpersonal skills; communication, marketing and relationship-building skills ; Strong customer service and organizational skills
