General Summary:



Under direct supervision of the Manager/Supervisor-Patient Access, oversees the daily operations of assigned Patient Access Department. Supervises work activities of assigned staff. Uses exceptional customer service practices. Represents WellSpan in a professional and positive manner. Provides support to Manager/Supervisor.



Duties and Responsibilities:


1 Oversees daily operations and productivity.

2 May perform duties as a working staff member.

3 In the absence of the team supervisor, serves as the primary leader for the team.

4 Works independently to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve personal conflicts.

5 Prepares and administers quarterly evaluations. Provides feedback to supervisor for annual performance evaluations.

6 Actively participates in the interview process for open positions for departments with growth and turnover.

7 Facilitates department orientation for new hires on a monthly basis providing instruction on departmental rules and regulations.

8 Retrieves and analyzes statistical data to ensure that department’s quality measures are met.

9 Assists in the coaching and development of staff and implementing corrective action plans if necessary.

10 Oversees training in general of new hires and implements new initiatives with current staff.

11 Functions in the capacity of supervisor based on the department’s needs such as a Leave of Absence (LOA).

12 Coordinates department to ensure that standards of quality and efficiency are met and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.

13 Promotes the active engagement of all employees and supports recognition of staff accomplishments.

14 Leads daily front line Lean Daily Management System huddles and is instrumental in developing new processes as well as streamlining current ones.

15 Coordinates and manages all new projects being implemented.

16 Travel to other WellSpan locations for meetings when necessary.

17 Complete at-home visits consistently for employee engagement and evaluate work space per the Work from Home contract.

Required Experience

Minimum Education:


High School or G.E.D.



Minimum Experience:


1 – 2 years (Demonstrated leadership potential preferred)



Required Courses/Training:





Become fully trained on trauma/TAT policies and procedures within 6 months of employment where deemed necessary. Obtain Certified Healthcare Access Association certification within one year where deemed necessary
