Position Summary:

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Monday - Friday

Varied start times during daylight hours (to meet schedule needs)

8 hour shifts

no weekends or holiday


General Summary:
RN  Under general supervision, registered nurse in Anesthesia Department assesses patients, performs treatments, administers medications and instructs patients and their families in appropriate care. Meets established Standards of Nursing Practice in the management of assigned patients. Acts within the guidelines of federal and state laws, JCAHO standards and professional and ethical practice.


Duties and Responsibilities:

 1 Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with peers as necessary and adjusts nursing care
processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
2 Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients' conditions and assists with the development of individual care plans for patients.
3 Prepares patients for scheduled procedures.
4 Gives basic triage information to patients and families per provider guidelines and instruction.
5 Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
6 Ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records.
7 Provides health care instruction/education to patient, family members or designated caregiver.
8 Assists attending physicians and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.
9 Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures, ensures proper functioning of equipment and restocks supplies.

Required Skills

Current RN license in PA

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)


Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Required Experience


Minimum 3 years RN work experience in a surgical setting required



Operating Room/perianesthesia experience required

Experience with cardiac monitoring, ultrasound equipment, conscious sedation, and sterile technique

Must be a self starter
