Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Manager-Physician Billing Services, manages and coordinates the integration of the physician billing service with the supporting information system.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Accountabilities:

  1. Verifies that all claims have processed through Flowcast night jobs on a daily basis.
  2. Deciphers and interrupts reports that are returned from insurance companies and clearing houses that identify claims that have not been accepted.
  3. Corrects returned reports and resubmits.
  4. Identifies, analyzes and communicates verbally or by written documentation a comprehensive ticket to Medical Group IS, York Hospital IS or Claim Logic.
  5. Serves as a problem solver and decision maker in resolving technical and business discrepancies between physician billing resources and information system resources regarding claim submission.
  6. Develops and maintains technical expertise regarding billing procedures and technical requirements of all participating health care insurance companies.
  7. Prepares requests and submits the updates to claim logic and tests updates in coordination with information system staff.
  8. Explains and works with information system staff implementing new or updated billing policies, procedures and processes.
  9. Ensures all billing requirement information is formatted, understandable and available to Information Systems (IS).
  10. Implements controls to ensure appropriate claim submission.
  11. Originates and processes invoice corrections.
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 3 - 5 years
  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum Field Of Expertise:
    • Health care/physician billing
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills; analytical skills; Proficient in Flowcast, Claim Logic, RAS, navinet, Emedeon, Powerchart, Eclipsys and SSI systems
