Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Regional Director – Volunteer Engagement, responsible for ensuring the seamless day-to-day operations and analysis for the Unpaid Intern onboarding process throughout WellSpan Health. Serves as the technical point of contact with ensuring compliance, data integrity and analyzing data. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) and central point of contact for unpaid intern host departments and affiliated schools.


Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Accountabilities:

  1. Directs overall function and maintenance of unpaid intern program, including selection, review of vaccination documentation, required clearances and other documentation to ensure program compliance.
  2. Cultivates partnerships and identifies internship sites aligned with student interests and plans.
  3. Develops and administers all regulatory documentation related to Unpaid Interns, including portals and websites.
  4. Communicates regularly with host department supervisors to answer questions and address concerns.
  5. Regularly reports data related to unpaid intern volumes, hours and other metric-driven data.
  6. Analyzes trends/patterns associated with unpaid intern programs. Applies analysis to system’s unpaid intern programs.
  7. Maintains positive communications with Volunteer Engagement leaders to provide the quality information in each region.
  8. Actively utilizes improvement strategies to positively impact all aspects of operations.
  9. May assist with volunteer activities when needed.

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2 - 3 years healthcare or management/administrative experience
  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or Public Administration
  • Minimum Field Of Expertise:
    • Healthcare or management/administrative experience
  • Physical Demands:
    • Sedentary work
    • Occasional prolonged standing/walking
  • Skills:
    • Ability to foster accountability and relationships, excellent communicator, well organized, project experience, performance improvement interest and training.
