DAY SHIFT WEEKEND ROTATION AVAILABILITY REQUIRED 

 

Job Description:

Under general supervision, assists other members of the surgical team in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Performs a variety of tasks such as assisting with positioning of patients for procedures, care and handling of all equipment, assisting with the ordering, receiving, and stocking of supplies, performing clerical tasks and completing errands. The patient care encompasses all age groups focusing on the patient's care, treatment and rehabilitation.

 

Common Expectations:

  1. 12 Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient
  2. population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides
  3. direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
  4. 13 Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the
  5. impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as
  6. well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  7. 14 Understands, supports, and practices the guidelines, standards of care and recommended practices set forth by the professional nursing organizations and other associate organizations and agencies as well as the hospital and departmental
  8. policy/procedures; universal/standard precautions; safety and risk management protocols; occupational safety regulations.
  9. 15 Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control
  10. standards.
  11. 16 Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature,
  12. inservice meetings, and workshops.
  13. 17 Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement
  14. and innovation.
 

Qualifications

  • Notes:
    • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum Education:
    • High School or G.E.D.
  • Required Certification:
    • BLS certification within one year
  • Physical Demands:
    • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
    • Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients
    • Lifts supplies/equipment
