Position Summary:

Nursing Assistant

York Hospital, 5 East

Full Time

D/N Shift

 

**Our hospital positions require two shift availability such as Day/Evenings (7A-11P); Day/Nights (11P-3P); or Evening/Nights (3P-7A). You would only be scheduled for 8 or 12 hour shifts between those hours.

**Weekends and Holidays are required. Positions are either every other weekend or every third weekend. There are 6 holidays that an employee works either every other holiday, rotating holidays, or assigned holidays.

About the Position

Under direct supervision, provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. 

The qualified candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

  • Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, changing bed linens and bed pans and positioning.
  • Assists in the preparation and transportation of patients for tests, procedures, etc.
  • Monitors patient condition levels; reports changes to the appropriate individuals.
  • Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration and pulse.
  • Sets up and removes equipment and supplies; ensures equipment is functioning properly and stored appropriately.
  • Performs EKGs and/or Point-of-Care testing which may include blood glucose, hemocult and specific gravity testing.
  • Runs special errands as required.  Responds to call lights.
  • Ensures patient rooms, nursing areas, supply carts, etc. are stocked with appropriate items at required levels.

Required Skills

Must Have a Completed HS Education verifiable by HS Diploma or GED
