Neuro Interventional Rad Tech - Advanced Procedural Suite - FT - Days

Mon-Fri w/On-call responsibility
Required to be within 30 minutes of hospital while on call
Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and under the direction of the Radiologist, performs invasive radiographic procedures at an intermediate skills level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs interventional neuro procedures.
- Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
- Scrubs with physician as required.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
- Positions and transfers patients comfortably.
- Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
- Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
- Performs duties as on call technologist. Trains new staff. Has passed the VI specialty exam as per ARRT.
- Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Experience:
- 3 - 5 years
- Minimum Education:
- Associate's Degree
- Required Certification:
- Special Procedures Registry; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Required Courses:
- Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in special procedures
