Palliative Care Medical Director

York, PA

WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in south central Pennsylvania, is seeking a fulltime Palliative Care Medical Director to lead the system’s growing & dynamic Palliative Care Program.


About the Position

  • Fulltime employed position with WellSpan Medical Group (WMG)
  • WMG currently employs 1,800+ providers
  • The successful candidate’s schedule will be 50% Administrative & 50% Clinical
  • Fellowship training in Hospice & Palliative Medicine is required
  • Clinical hours will be divided between two clinics & hospitals within a 4-mile radius  
  • Two new outpatient clinics are an “embedded model” to promote patient access
  • Located at the beautiful new WellSpan Cancer Center & Community Health Center
  • WellSpan Surgery & Rehabilitation Hospital is a free-standing specialty hospital
  • York Hospital (YH) is a 579-bed, level one trauma center
  • YH has 8 residency programs & is a regional campus for Drexel Univ. Medical School
  • WellSpan’s entire five county system has transitioned to EPIC
  • Seven physicians currently report to the Medical Director of Palliative Care
  • CRNPs, RN Care Coordinators & Social Workers round out the clinic staff
  • Large referral base of WMG primary care & specialty providers
  • WellSpan Oncology is closely affiliated with Johns Hopkins
  • Excellent support from WMG leadership and an experienced Practice Manager
