WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in southcentral PA, is seeking a Medical Director-Emergency Medicine for Ephrata Community Hospital (ECH). The team of ten physicians and seven APPs pride themselves in fulfilling their mission to provide excellent emergency care to over 35,000 patients per year.


About the Position

  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine is required
  • 5+ years of leadership experience is preferred
  • 50/50 clinical/administrative time
  • Secure employment with the 1,800 + provider, WellSpan Medical Group
  • Newly renovated and efficient 25-bed ED
  • Focus on patient safety, clinical quality and patient experience
  • Two physicians and two PAs cover busiest hours
  • 12 hours shifts with equal rotation
  • ECH is a 122-bed facility featuring a PCI Program
  • 24/7 collegial hospitalist group handles admissions
  • Unconditional support from hospital administration
  • Formal dyad partnership structure with Clinical Nursing Director
  • Inpatient Psychiatry, quick imaging/lab turnaround & 24-hr. anesthesia
  • WellSpan has transitioned all inpatient/outpatient facilities to EPIC
