Manager HCM(Human Capital Management) Operations

General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director-HCM Operations, manages the daily functions of HR Operations, including the maintenance of all aspects of HR systems, processes, configuration, data integrity, system testing and upgrades.

Collaborates with the Director: to provide technical expertise as the HR systems subject matter expert; on the analysis, design, development, functional configuration, testing, and implementation of new or enhanced functionality or business processes within HR systems in order to drive transformation and elevation of HR business culture.

Analyzes data flows for process improvement opportunities and leads system related projects, in conjunction with the Project Manager – HR Portfolio, as necessary. Provides appropriate end user training.

The manager is expected to work closely with other institutional stakeholders and system leadership in the effort to drive effective business processing and improve core HR business processing.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1. Provides daily supervision for the HR Operations (HRIS) staff in problem solving, setting priorities, and other operational matters.

2. As a working team member, contributes to meeting the processing and reporting needs of the organization.

3. Responds to customer and staff needs, complex problems, etc. as necessary or requested.

4. Provides technical guidance and assistance to project staff and users.

5. Suggests improvements to processes and is a knowledge resource for other team members.

6. Assists the Director and Project Manager – HR Portfolio in formulating project objectives, plans and system development requirements.

7. Monitors key HR Operations metrics.

8. Collaborates with the Director and IT on production support, security configuration and documentation, reporting and troubleshooting.

9. Keeps the Director apprised of progress of initiatives, problems and need for changes.

10. Interacts and collaborates with IT and external vendors on issues and resolution.

11. Acts as liaison between appropriate groups/individuals.

12. Ensures all HR Operations processes and procedures are documented and updated as necessary.

13. Provides business expertise in Core HR areas, existing workflows, security & controls and interfaces.

 

Qualifications:

Note: Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

 

Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree

 

Minimum Experience 5 - 8 years industry, management and ERP experience, Lawson and/or Oracle highly preferred

Experience leading complex projects and managing risk

Experience in HR functions, core business processes and best practices

Experience developing, managing and coaching teams

 

Min Field Of Expertise Business, Management Information Systems or equivalent

 

Pref Cert/Registration Project Management Professional (PMP) or Human Resources Information Professional (HRIP) or equivalent from respected associations or programs preferred

 

Skills: Other Excellent interpersonal/communication skills; advances computer skills; expert computer and report writing skills; SQL and Business Intelligence experience strongly preferred; strong problem solving skills; strong analytic and computer aptitude; highly motivated, creative and independent
