Position Summary:

General Summary:
Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and the direction of the Radiologist, performs routine and special mammography procedures according to established practices and procedures.


Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Performs mammography studies; obtains patient history; explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
2 Under the direction of a Team Leader, is responsible for training other technicians/technologists, certifying that techs meet competencies.
3 Maintains department quality assurance program.
4 Positions patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
5 Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
6 Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
7 Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.


Required Skills
  • Associate's Degree
  • 3 - 5 years experience
  • ARRT with mammography certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in mammography procedures
