Logistics and Distribution Technician Lead - York Hospital - Full Time

Location: WellSpan Health, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Full Time (80 hours biweekly/40 weekly)

Sunday evening through Thursday evening with rotating weekends

General Summary

Acts in a lead capacity to support the System-wide mission of Logistics & Distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Possesses full understanding of Logistics & Distribution Technician levels I, II, and III.
  • Is able to perform and train all Technician level tasks.
  • Provides feedback to Logistics & Distribution Supervisor on co-worker's performance. Provides input to supervisor for performance evaluation process.
  • Provides feedback to supervisor on work related issues, including those that might lead to disciplinary actions.
  • Makes assignments and distributes workload; manages day-to-day work flow within team; reports to supervisor regarding completion of work flow.
  • Coordinates implementation and oversees work of group assigned to specific projects including identification of assignments and responsibility, establishing work deadlines for team members and coordinating completion of activities.
  • Provides advice and assistance on work techniques, best practices, and subject-matter expertise to co-workers.
  • Schedules and controls daily working arrangements in order to complete projects/assignments.
  • Communicates to team assignment, project, problem to be solved, deadlines, and issues for review.
  • Coaches team in picking and applying problem-solving methods and techniques, and advise members on work methods.
  • Assists team in setting, distributing, balancing and adjusting tasks and workload based on members' skills.
  • Trains or arranges training for team members in team-building and teamwork, as well as in technical areas needed to accomplish team goals.
  • Monitors and reports on status of work.
  • Coaches, facilitates and negotiates team activities and consensus-building.
  • Maintains reference materials, project files, and background documents; hands down policies, procedures and instructions from supervisor; keeps current on policies and directives to answer team members' questions.
  • Reports on and keeps records of accomplishments and personal administrative information for supervisor.
  • Represents team in dealing with supervisor to obtain resources, information and decisions.
  • Reports to supervisor on team and individual accomplishments.
  • Represents team and conveys its findings in dealings with other team leaders and customers.
  • Estimates and reports on team's progress meeting deadlines and makes sure all members participate in planning team goals and objectives.
  • Learns and applies qualitative and quantitative methods to measure team effectiveness and performance.
  • Assists in assessing team weaknesses and strengths.
  • Resolves simple or informal complaints and refers formal grievances or appeals to appropriate officials.
  • Intercedes with supervisor on behalf of team in cases of performance problems, or need for assignments, reassignments, promotions, duty changes, peer reviews and performance appraisals.

Common Expectations:

  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

  • 2 years Inventory experience in a clinical setting. Required

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to read and write the English language.
