Job Description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks to support the system-wide mission of Logistics and Distribution including, but not limited to, issuing supplies, maintaining inventories and compiling stock records, receiving, preparing items for shipment and/or return to vendor, etc.. Performs data entry into various systems. Investigates and reconciles data issues to ensure reporting and accounting accuracy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs a variety of tasks to support the system-wide mission of Logistics and Distribution including, but not limited to, issuing supplies, maintaining inventories and compiling stock records, receiving, preparing items for shipment and/or return to vendor, etc..
  2. Performs data entry into various systems.
  3. Ensures data entry is done in a timely, accurate and consistent fashion, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  4. Investigates and reconciles data issues to ensure reporting and accounting accuracy.
  5. Tracks-Expedites-Statuses shortages/backorders for inventory items. Ensures standard operating procedures are followed in connection with purchases of materials. Maintains computerized purchase order files and related records of current suppliers, materials and delivery.
  6. Compares computer balances with periodic sampling checks of physical inventory. Researches and reconciles discrepancies.
  7. Participates in evaluation of acceptable substitutions.
  8. Works with managers, supervisors, technicians, supply distributors, freight aggregators, linen providers and equipment vendors.
  9. May work directly with clinical customers and/or Procurement & Contracting.
  10. Responds to requests for information from Finance for invoice approval, in regards to shipping quantities and product differences. Works with vendors for resolution.
  11. Process returns. Prepares bill of lading. Packs and ships via electronic manifest.
  12. May communicate directly with vendors.
  13. Attends meetings as required.
  14. Performs other related duties as identified.
  15. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards.
  16. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  17. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 3 - 6 months
    • Logistics Background Preferred
    • Mechanical Aptitude Preferred 
    • Forklift Experience Preferred
  • Minimum Education:
    • High School or G.E.D.
