Position Summary:

Coverage needed 7am -7pm

2 early shifts (7am start) and 2 close shifts (7pm end) per week

Saturday coverage 1-2 shifts per month; 8am - 12pm




General Summary:
Under general supervision, ensures the safety of facility Wellness members and patients by preventing and responding to emergencies. Maintains orderly routine, scheduling and record keeping within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Recognizes and responds effectively in emergencies.
2 Enforces all Aquatic Facility policies, rules and regulations.
3 Keeps daily and monthly attendance records of Wellness members.
4 Inspects the facility on a daily schedule and reports any unsafe conditions and/or equipment to supervisor.
5 Completes records and reports as indicated.
6 Assists in preparation and cleanup of pool and locker room areas.


Rehab Medicine Tech 

General Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, therapist or therapist assistant, performs general, non-technical duties. Assists therapists and/or therapist assistants in preparing patients for therapy, treating patients, gathering supplies and preparing documentation.  Assists with front desk coverage as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Communicates consistently, professionally and in a timely manner.
2 Watches for patient arrival and communicates arrival to therapist to ensure patient is not waiting.
3 Transports patients to and from the department. 
4 Prepares the treatment areas for patient care including: sets up, removes, cleans, appropriately stores, and organizes equipment and supplies including linens. Assists with monitoring of supply stock, informing front office when supplies are low. 
5 Prepares, handles, and stores a variety of food items per policy as applicable. Monitors expiration dates and maintains a clean food prep environment compliant with regulations.
6 Prepares documentation materials as directed.
7 Maintain medication in locked cabinet, monitors expiration dates and dispose of properly per policy. 
8 Send soiled instruments for sterilization. 
9 Assists therapist with safe transfer/positioning of patients.
10 Under the direct supervision of a therapist or therapist assistant, prepares for patient treatment, assists with providing care, monitors patient during treatment and cleans equipment according to policy.
11 Prepares modalities, apply if directed by therapist.
12 Observes patients precautions as related to the patients diagnosis. 
13 Ensures safety of patients, visitors and staff while receiving services. Ensures safety/maintenance of therapy area(s) and equipment, including monitoring of biomed expiration stickers for routine maintenance. 
14 Monitor temperatures of applicable equipment per policy.
15 Clean hydroculators, ice pack machines, and paraffin baths and document on cleaning logs
16 Assists with administrative duties as assigned, (i.e. data entry, coverage of front office, faxing, scheduling, etc.)
17 Assists department in preparation for regulatory surveys, utilizing checklists to ensure compliance.
18 Assist all staff with other tasks. Ask team members if assistance is needed.




Required Skills

High School diploma or G.E.D.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid certification OR American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification

Required Experience

Lifeguard experience preferred

Rehab experience preferred
