General Summary


Under general supervision, supports System-wide employee engagement and leadership development and serves as internal organizational development and performance consultant to System leaders. Consults with leaders to help them interpret respective engagement survey results, advises them of engagement-related resources and provides action planning guidance and coaching. Facilitates training on a variety of leadership topics and continually assesses audience learning needs and evaluates impact of learning outcomes. Works in conjunction with Instructional Design team and external training vendor partners in the assessment and development of leadership/OD-related blended learning solutions and interventions, sometimes as the subject matter expert.


Duties and Responsibilities


Monitors, tracks, measures and shares “best practice” engagement-related leader actions and activities to position and strengthen a system-wide (culture) focus on employee engagement and development.

Serves as an organizational development consultant to internal leaders. Provides coaching and/or create/broker OD solutions, as appropriate.

Serves in a supportive coordination role to the System employee engagement advisory council.

Provides support to/partners with the Senior Director-Organizational Learning and Development on identified system-wide engagement activities.

Facilitates system-wide classroom-led leadership development workshops at various locations.

Assists the Director-Leadership Development in the planning and execution of talent management review discussions and follow-up development planning.

Contributes to the planning and development of leadership resources and development opportunities.

Serves as partner/liaison to system-wide leadership development workgroups to ensure alignment of local entity efforts with overall System strategy, philosophy and initiatives.

Partners with WellSpan functional areas to ensure alignment and synergy of leadership development philosophy and curriculum content and with regional human resources directors on organizational development-related efforts, when appropriate.

Prepares and/or recommends, in collaboration with the Director-Leadership Development, communications for internal system-wide leadership portal.



  • 5 - 8 years of Professional Development Experience
  • Experience within a leadership development capacity
  • Experience and certification in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DiSC, Social Styles, Firo-B, Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), SHRM-SCP or SPHR
  • Master's Degree
  • Internal consulting experience, preferably within a matrixed leadership healthcare multi-location setting.
  • Direct experience with employee engagement programs required.
  • Critical thinking skills capability coupled with the ability to think at a “systems level”. Experience creating OD interventions for a variety of leadership levels (frontline, middle-level, senior level).
  • Experience in OD solution measurement against targeted goals.
  • Experience working with leaders in a matrixed team environment.
  • Leadership classroom training facilitation experience.
