General Summary:
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of duties to assist the Anesthesiologist/Nurse Anesthetist with clinical procedures. Prepares and sets up operating room with required supplies and equipment. Cleans equipment and rooms
and restocks supplies and medications. In coordination with Biomedical Engineering, troubleshoots anesthesia equipment and performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance. Oversees and schedules the work of Anesthesia Technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel
actions. Performs work of a similar nature.
2 Troubleshoots anesthesia equipment and performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance. Coordinates major repairs
and maintains appropriate maintenance records.
3 Establishes and implements standards for room preparation and cleanup and anesthesia equipment maintenance.
4 Prepares and sets up operating room with required supplies and equipment.
5 Sets up and assists with invasive monitoring lines.
6 Cleans and stocks all operating rooms and supply carts with necessary anesthesia supplies and emergency drugs.
7 Cleans and sterilizes all equipment used in the administration of anesthesia.
8 Trains anesthesia technicians on equipment repair and maintenance.
9 Responsible for the care and maintenance of department/entity equipment and supplies.
10 Monitors departmental supply levels and orders supplies as necessary.

Required Skills

High school diploma or G.E.D.

ASATT certification; certified by equipment manufacturer to work on their equipment

Good communication skills

Required Experience

1-2 years of experience as an anesthesia tech

Supervisory experience preferred
