Position Summary:

General Summary:

 

Under the direct supervision of the appropriate supervisor, performs a variety of general support and some technical duties in specimen procurement, clerical office, central processing, other assigned areas, and/or a technical section. Functions in on- and/or off-site service areas.  May be required to accept on-call responsibilities.  May perform occasional in-charge duties in the absence of immediate supervisor.  May prepare cytology slides and pathology specimens.

 

 

Required Skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish positive, therapeutic interactions with clients and work as part of a team.
  • Physical effort required in moving immobile clients, restraining agitated clients and walking or standing almost constantly.
  • Visual and cognitive skills to read and write.
  • Knowledge of and ability in the care and handling of clients in a specific age group (children, adolescents, adults or older adults) as assigned is required, including consideration of the special needs and behaviors of that age group. If more than one age group is served, knowledge and ability specific to each age group is required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and qualify for WellSpan Philhaven driving privileges. Must obtain PA drivers’ license in accordance with PA laws if license upon hire is out-of-state.
