Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Provider, APP and Clinical Nursing Navigator and/or the Practice Manager, provides safe, therapeutic and efficient care and services to patients. Assists in direct patient care in the Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases (ICVD) Clinic, a travelling clinic that sees patients and their relatives for management of inherited cardiovascular diseases. The MA / LPN is required to travel along with our ICVD team, to multiple clinic sites within the WellSpan system to perform treatments, administer medications (if qualified and appropriately supervised), and instruct patients and their families in appropriate care, as directed by their provider. Is an active team participant in the patient-centered practice, by aiding in the development of office workflows that support patient-centered care.
Additional responsibilities may include verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
Required Experience / Education for Medical Assistant
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a 4-6 week clinically focused externship/internship in a physician office setting OR National Certification as a medical assistant
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred
- Cardiology experience is preferred
Required Experience / Education for LPN
- Licensed Practical Nurse; GPN will be considered
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred
- Cardiology experience is preferred
- BCLS certification
