Call Requirements
General Summary:
Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and under the direction of the Procedural Physician, performs invasive radiographic procedures at an intermediate skills level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs interventional and endovascular procedures.
- Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
- Scrubs with physician as required.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
- Positions and transfers patients comfortably.
- Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
- Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
- Performs duties as on call technologist. Trains new staff as needed.
- Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Associate's Degree
Minimum Experience 1 - 3 years
Req Cert/Registration ARRT; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
Req Course(s)/Training Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in special procedures
