General Summary:


Under direct supervision, performs general, non-technical duties. Assists the technologist and physician in positioning, lifting, transferring and care of patients. Schedules patient exams and performs other clerical duties related to and in support of departmental operations. Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment. Maintains appropriate levels of necessary supplies.


Duties and Responsibilities:


1 Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
2 Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
3 Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
4 Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, patient folders.
5 Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment.
6 Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
7 Assists the physician in performing radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures.
8 Performs daily quality control tests on film processors.
9 Collects soiled laundry/linens and delivers to pick up point. Orders, stocks and distributes clean laundry/linens.
10 Performs electrocardiograph examinations and others as ordered.

Required Skills

Minimum Education              

High School or G.E.D.



Minimum Experience           

6 - 12 months



Req Cert/Registration          

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required



Req Course(s)/Training       

Basic EKG course for cardiac arrythmias
