Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Director HRIS/Payroll/Records, provides oversight and delegation of duties to HRIS Specialist I and II staff. Is the point person for Specialist I and II staff for guidance, education, troubleshooting errors, facilitates approved process improvements and day to day questions. Will continue to provide analytical support through various reporting methods to meet enterprise and HR business strategies, strategic vision and goals of the System. Collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. Collects and participates in turnover/vacancy/retention and other employment related surveys. Processes a variety of complex personnel actions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Provide oversight and delegation of duties to HRIS Specialist I & II staff.
  2. Provide guidance and education in the day to day processing of data, error corrections and system troubleshooting to HRIS Specialist I & II staff.
  3. Is the primary resource and point of contact for all HRIS Specialist I & II staff.
  4. Facilitates the implementation of approved process improvements for Records and Clearances initiatives.
  5. Oversee and assist to collect, maintain and audit statistical data for administrative, regulatory and federal purposes.
  6. Oversee and assist in the collection of and participates in turnover/vacancy/retention and other employment related surveys.
  7. Provides technical support to HR operations.
  8. Assists HRIS Specialist II staff in compiling data for and preparing regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements.
  9. Oversees the processed changes in personnel status and assists in the input of data into computer if needed.
  10. Educates and assists, if needed, in the processing of complex personnel changes into employee records and prepares reports and statistical summaries from the records.
  11. Using highly developed data structure modeling skills, performs audits, researches and develops reports, files, spreadsheets, documents, analytical tools and automated solutions and processes.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Notes:
    • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

 

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 5 – 7 years
    • Min Field of Expertise: Human Resources, database management

 

  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate's Degree

 

  • Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills; advanced computer skills with ability to learn new computer applications; strong data structure modeling and data/database management skills; proficient in the use of Crystal Reports, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and other data analysis and reporting tools; strong understanding of human resources information systems; knowledge of LAWSON HRIS preferred; thorough knowledge of HRIS Specialist I role required; able to work effectively with minimal supervision with all levels of staff and management to develop solutions to human resources issues; able to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines
