Financial Analyst - Treasury

Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Treasury Operations and Investments, processes a variety of financial and accounting transactions. Maintains accurate bookkeeping records and reporting statistics. Provides financial support and works collaboratively with financial & operational management in financial oversight which include, but are not limited to, general accounting, support for financial analysis, planning, budgeting, performance improvement, development of other fiscal management processes to support operations leadership with management of their fiscal performance.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Prepare and analyze timely and accurate monthly general and standard journal entries, financial statements and reports and reconciliations. Individual should be capable of operating independently with little or no supervision.
  2. Maintains ledgers and daily journals in a complete set of records to reflect financial transactions. May support other financial reporting including but not limited to dashboards and other management/operational reporting.
  3. Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and financial statements. Prepares financial feasibility studies. Reviews/evaluates administrative/planning studies as assigned.
  4. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. May prepares, analyzes, and maintains cost data as required for regulatory and financial reporting, and new program
  5. submissions on an ongoing basis.
  6. Maintains appropriate internal control safeguards over accounting records.
  7. Prepares monthly journal entries, financial statements and comparative reports, and monthly account reconciliations. Prepares budget variance analyses on general budget issues. Analyzes the monthly revenue and expense reports. May prepare financial recap of budget vs. actual variance.
  8. May assist in preparation of federal, state, and other regulatory reports.
  9. Assists independent auditors with interim and year-end audit. Support annual preparation of third-party payor cost reports.
  10. Supports monthly analysis of financial statement budget variances. Individual should be able to accurately analyze, interpret and articulate financial statements and entity performance.
  11. Assume the role as primary financial liaison with operations. Conduct meetings with Senior Leadership with assistance/support form direct manager or other finance leadership. Individuals should participate in operations meetings and represent finance during ongoing operations discussions. In this role the individual must be able to articulate performance data from the financial statements.
  12. Analyzes operation of system, prepares recommendations and documentation to create and update fiscal services and other related policies and procedures with respect to operating systems.
  13. Prepare annual budget for the operating unit (s). This would involve coordinating with other service lines and gathering data and statistics to support the budget process. Coordinate annual budget package for the board.
  14. May conduct or assist in presentation of fiscal education sessions.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 3+ years experience preferred
    • Treasury experience is a major plus
    • Budgeting experience a plus
    • Strong Excel experience(Pivots and advanced formulas)
    • Strong analytical experience

 

  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

 

  • Required Courses:
    • Accounting/Finance

 

  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills; analytical skills; able to work well in a team
