Position Highlights:

  • WellSpan York Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine is currently seeking a BC/BE Emergency Medicine & EMS physician.
  • Administrative duties will include Medical Command facility oversight and administration, EMS education, Medical Directorship of local EMS units, community paramedicine, serving on hospital committees/ad hoc meetings related to prehospital care, and partnering closely with our System EMS Medical Director
  • Our department is a Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center and STEMI center operating out of a recently renovated and highly resourced ED.
  • Our Health-System based EMS Division is a progressive, rapidly developing service that encompasses 3 geographic regions, community paramedicine, 911 response (ambulance and squads), interfacility transport and 2 helicopters. We pride ourselves on our partnerships with dozens of community-based EMS organizations to which we provide medical direction. 
  • The WellSpan York Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine is a high-volume, high-acuity academic Department of Emergency Medicine seeing over 90,000 patients a year
  • WellSpan York Hospital is a 600-bed regional specialty care teaching hospital serving a population of 500,000 in South Central Pennsylvania and serves as a referral hospital for our 6 community hospitals.  We are 1 hour from Baltimore, 1.5 hours to D.C., and 2 hours from Philly; our region provides high quality of life, affordability, and proximity to major urban centers.
