Emergency Department Technician
Part-Time Evening
36 Hours per pay period
Weekend and Holiday rotation required
Position Function: The Emergency Department Technician is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Manager, or at the direction of a physician. Performs clerical, computer, phlebotomy, EKG, and other patient care duties in the Emergency Department.
Qualifications and Standards
Education: Formal Education and Training: For employees hired March 24, 2020, or after, graduate of an accredited medical assistant program and/or graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program with 6 months of experience, or the equivalent in relative experience; demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology is required. Successful completion of EKG class with minimum score of 80% required within 6 months of hire.
Experience: Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required. Proficiency in Phlebotomy preferred; proficiency in EKG preferred; experience in reading cardiac rhythms preferred; basic computer literacy and typing skill preferred.
Certifications/Licensure: CPR certification required.
