General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Senior Operations Manager-Occupational Health, provides safe, accurate and highly reliable care and services to patients as part of the Occupational Health team in a unique employee environment with the goal of providing an area employer with a safe and healthy work environment. Delivers care to patients, preforms treatments, follow up appointments, conducts multiple tests, administers medications and instructs patients accordingly. Will perform a variety of functions related to patients in the accordance with appropriate rules, regulations and protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As certified competent to do so, performs basic office procedures, examinations and/or tests ordered by the Provider and/or as specified by the employer (i.e. Audiograms, PFT’s, vision tests, etc.) Use appropriate equipment and protocols as applicable.

2. Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Obtains and documents reason for visit, patient personal healthy history, patient vital signs including pain scale with duration and subjective/objective findings as appropriate.

3. Obtains basic health information from patient to review with Provider. Uses this information to assist Provider and/or employer in determining the urgency for care or an alternative venue for care for those patients with acute problems.

4. Ensures all patient care areas are kept clean, tidy and are adequately stocked with unexpired supplies and medications.

5. Handles and stores instruments, equipment, and supplies appropriately.

6. Completes necessary documentation and paperwork in a timely manner. Documents all treatments provided, and education given to patient effectively.

7. Maintains patient records to ensure an accurate and thorough record of patient’s medical treatment.

8. Independently able to perform clerical functions.

9. Uses Universal Precautions with every patient encounter.

Required Skills
  • High School or GED
  • EMT-B certification in PA
  • BLS Certification
Required Experience
  • Occupational Health experience is a plus
