Director of Supply Chain - Quality Assurance & Value Analysis

General Summary:

 

Under the general supervision of the Sr. Director - Supply Chain Sourcing & Contracting, is responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance & Value Analysis operations, including: establishing and executing streamlined methodologies for service and supply selection, utilization, and cost; providing expertise to facilitate supply expense management; actively works with clinical areas to mediate product issues with manufacturers and resolve product quality issues; and continuously monitors outcomes to ensure they achieve the desired results.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

  1.   Provides leadership and support for the system-wide Quality Assurance & Value Analysis team, including resources/structures, processes/practices/tools and KPI’s that fosters excellent service.
  2.   Provides general Supply Chain oversight to the Quality Assurance processes, including, but not limited to: SRS Management, Product Recall, Medical Device Reporting, Clinical Equipment Review, and New Product Requests.
  3.   Ensures that all products, services, and equipment meet regulatory requirements and are safe for use on patients. This includes review of FDA Maude reports, FDA clearances, joint commission standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  4.   Maintains a working knowledge of principle and practices of quality improvement, team facilitation, problem solving, and change management.
  5.   Provides general oversight to the VAT processes including, New Product Request (NPR) and Equipment/Supply Trials.
  6.   Builds and maintains supportive relationships with the medical, clinical, and operational leaders at all levels to foster a culture of engagement, collaboration, and shared accountability on VAT initiatives.
  7. Coordinates and monitors the documentation of product initiatives and oversees the evaluation and implementation of approved initiatives.   
  8.    Leads the development and focus on patient outcomes when evaluating new and existing products, equipment and services, in line with WellSpan’s quality and safety objectives.
  9. Supports the VAT teams and project leaders in identifying needed resources, ensuring impacts on current policies and practices are understood and addressed, identifying and coordinating communications and educational needs with suppliers and user-departments. 
  10.   In conjunction with other Supply Chain Leaders, supports material resource selection, standardization, and utilization initiatives.
  11.   Participates in the Clinical Equipment Review (CERT) process, including focus on product safety, product standardization, and the interconnectivity of equipment and supply.

Qualifications:

              

Bachelor’s Degree

Master’s Degree preferred

 5-8 years, with 3-5 years in progressively more responsible supply chain, business administration, nursing and/or Process/Quality

Improvement leadership positions

Background in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Nursing, Process/Quality Improvement, Project Management, Value Analysis

 Progressively higher management and/or supervisory positions in healthcare field preferred

 Six Sigma, CCIM, PMP, Preferred

Requires a high level of proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, databases, word processing and

presentation software tools to interpret, communicate and present information in a clear, concise manner;

Requires ability to perform statistical and financial analysis;

Requires knowledge of Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) development; human resource skills, specifically skills related to managing staff and collaborating with other managers across organizational boundaries and functional areas within the system.
