General Summary:

 

The Director of Ancillary & Support Services performs a wide variety of administrative, operational and fiscal functions including, but not limited to, the clinical ancillary services, budget, revenue and financial management, personnel, purchasing and general administrative services, to ensure successful operation of the Hospital depts..  Has oversight for several different departmental areas and functions including but not limited to laboratory, wound center & pain management.  Successful leadership will demonstrate results in performance improvement, employee engagement, patient safety, patient experience and stewardship.  Serves as a role model in the aforementioned areas.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

   1   Provides leadership direction and oversight to non-nursing clinical ancillary departments of Hospital.

   2   Participates in the development, coordination and administrative support of strategic and operational plans for the areas of responsibility.

   3   Collaborates with system resources and leadership to ensure alignment and shared responsibility where appropriate.

   4   Monitors program activities and appropriate participation, recording and reporting statistical data, including financial data, to determine levels of participation and identify areas for improvement.

   5   Ensures the efficient, economic and quality performance of assigned departments/areas of responsibility to support or provide quality health care services.

   6   Ensures the provision of affordable health care services by the acquisition, utilization and organization of available resources and the development of improved techniques and practices.

   7   Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring operations and its programs and physical properties and initiating changes where required.

   8   Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of systems that support the delivery of patient care; the quality of patient care across the Hospital for all disciplines; and the achievement of quality patient outcomes.

   9   Participates with leaders from the governing body, management, physician staff and clinical areas in decision-making structures and processes.

10   Performs financial analysis, revenue management and business planning for all associated service within the clinical ancillary departments.

Required Skills

Minimum Education              

Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration or MBA

 

 

   

Minimum Experience           

5 - 8 years of operations management level experience within the Healthcare field

Experience working within an ambulatory care environment (Preferred) 

Strong understanding of financial analysis, budget reporting, capital management

Experience implementing Lean Daily Management values and goals into daily operating rhythm
