Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Vice President-Financial Planning and Professional Services, and in conjunction with objectives set by the Senior Vice President-Finance, supports budgeting and analytics for the WellSpan system overall.  The director will build relationships with partners across the system to understand the needs of system leaders.   The Director of Budget and Decision Support will execute substantial technical and managerial efforts with a system wide focus supporting the WellSpan mission. Perform advanced project and analytical work in a wide range of business intelligence activities that ensure the uniformity, accuracy and consistency of enterprise data through the application of effective data management, security, stewardship and governess process.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Assists in developing, overseeing and review of the operating budget process including, Timeline, Design, Financial target development, Implementation/Enhancements, Evaluate results for compliance, Reporting

Prepares financial documents and support for senior management review and presentation

Develops and implements tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring and decision support. 

Creates procedures and guidelines for operating budget and decision support systems and processes

Evaluates and assess metrics and program effectiveness for both operating budget and decision support

Troubleshoots problems and seek opportunities for improvement; coordinate with application teams to resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues

Lead, hire, coach and evaluate performance of staff.  This position currently supervises a team of five people.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years progressive experience in health care finance
    • Healthcare Leadership
    • Background in Budget and Decision Support

 

  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Master's preferred
    • CPA
