Position Summary:


General Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Development Operations, provides high level administrative support to the Manager, Development Operations and WellSpan Philanthropy fundraising staff for achievement of the fundraising goals of WellSpan Philanthropy. Provides operational support for WellSpan Philanthropy. Performs a variety of duties and functions related to special event coordinator, direct mail, donor communications and general operations. Will collect data related to donations, assemble data for direct mail campaigns, and/or assist in the preparation of direct mail campaigns, events, prospect research and donor relations activities. Provides other general support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Analyze and interpret donor segmentation reports for donor mailings, solicitations, stewardship pieces, acknowledgement, recognition, and other donor communications. Responds to donor questions. Assists with the standardization of system-wide donor stewardship and recognition.
2 Works independently, with input from Philanthropy leaders, to coordinate the strategy, planning, execution and support of York Health Foundation and system-wide fundraising campaigns and special gift projects. Executes prospect/donor related projects and board/committee related work. Prepares campaign and special gifts related reports and analyses as requested.
3 Handles the compilation of financial reports, donor reports and prospect research on an individual basis.
4 Liaison for third-party event groups to provide WellSpan guidelines for the event. Research third party events and donors for follow up by Events Specialist.
5 Provides high-level administrative support for operations, donor events, special campaigns and fundraising special events. Operations support includes projects related to public relations & marketing, finance and moves management.
6 Assists with office duties, including filing, meeting scheduling, phone answering, typing, and other necessary duties.


Required Skills


Minimum Education              Associate's Degree

Preferred Education              Bachelor’ Degree

Minimum Experience            3 – 5 years related experience in fundraising/high level administrative support role

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge); demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • proficiency with electronic research sources and databases
  • familiarity with a healthcare environment and structure; awareness of fundraising strategies
