Position Summary:

 

General Summary:

 


Provides delivery, set-up, education, function, and maintenance of home medical equipment and supplies.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 


1 Educates patient, family, or caregiver on Physicians orders, procedures, maintenance and proper use of equipment based on patients age, size, weight, disease process and demonstrated needs.
2 Ensures completeness of order when loading equipment and supplies prior to leaving facility.
3 Delivery orders are completed in a timely manner in accordance with patients needs.
4 Sets up equipment in accordance with manufacturer and GSH Home Med Care guidelines.
5 Completes assigned paperwork pertinent to delivery and vehicle maintenance.
6 Follows safety guidelines when transporting hazardous materials.
7 Utilizes appropriate safety precautions based on proper selection of equipment, procedures, and supplies according to patients age, size, weight, disease process, and demonstrated need as appropriate.
8 Completes required vehicle checks and required forms/reports prior to using vehicle.
9 Always reviews with patient his/her financial responsibility at time of delivery.
10 Always submits all delivery paperwork next working day.


Required Skills

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Note: Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

 

Minimum Education High school diploma or G.E.D.

 

Minimum Experience 1 – 2 years

 

Preferred Experience HME background or product knowledge; delivery experience.

 

Physical Demands

Heavy physical effort (lift/carry 11 to 25 lbs.)

Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching

Repetitious upper body movement (hand, arm, shoulder)

Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heave equipment/supplies

Frequent prolonged standing/walking

 

Working Conditions Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries

 

Skills: Other Strong computer skills; Ability to drive in varying weather conditions in both urban and rural areas; Knowledge of standard office equipment (copier, printer, fax).

 

Other Must possess a valid driver’s license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
