Decedent Driver - Day/Evening/Night

PRN (As Needed): Day/Evening/Night shifts

Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator – Pre-Hospital Services or Regional Manager –Pre-Hospital Services will perform a variety of functions related to decedents in the accordance with appropriate rules, regulations and protocols.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Transports the decedent(s) to York County Morgue at the request of the York County Coroner
  2. Transports decedent(s) to autopsy at the destination of Coroner’s choosing
  3. Maintain an operational knowledge of all WellSpan EMS equipment
  4. Maintain profession and empathetic attitude when encountering family member(s) of decedent(s)
  5. Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers and facility staff
  6. Maintain all equipment in a clean, functional manner
  7. Provides transportation of decedent(s) from the dispatched scene to York County Morgue.
  8. Provides transportation from morgue to autopsy and return to morgue or otherwise, specified location after completion of appointment.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 3-6 months
  • Minimum Education:
    • High School or G.E.D.
  • Required Certification:
    • Valid Driver’s License
  • Required Courses:
    • Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course, if applicable.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Frequent prolonged standing/walking
    • Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients
    • Lifts supplies/equipment
    • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
