General Summary:


Under general supervision, provides enterprise-wide configuration management functions to the System to ensure technology infrastructure is implemented and maintained in alignment with industry best practices, to provide the utmost integrity and reliability of business and clinical information technologies. Involved with technology products throughout entire life cycle, implementation, production and retirement.



Duties and Responsibilities:



1 Defines, designs and develops Configuration Management Database according to industry best practice. Including Configuration Item classification structure, attributes, and relationship types. Participates in the design of IT Services within the IT Service Management toolset.

2 Uses available technologies to determine appropriate source of truth for technical configuration items and appropriate data import into the CMDB via various import technologies. Maintains CMDB accuracy through automated discovery and synchronization.

3 Defines Configuration Management process, dashboards, and reports for various levels of IT leadership and staff.

4 Participates in the analysis of proposed changes for impact to IT Services. Assists in risk assessment. Performs conflict assessments and provides coordination between disparate entities and projects. Resolves scheduling conflicts and deviations.

5 Writes clear, concise, and accurate process documentation. Provides formal and informal training to IT colleagues.

6 Participates and provides evidence in internal and external audit activities related to change and configuration management.

7 Works alongside the Project Management team and Subject Matter Experts during implementations of new or upgraded applications to ensure configuration management quality standards are met. Identify opportunities to reduce or eliminate IT Service interruptions.

8 Ensure proper configuration identification occurs, including corresponding hardware, software, integration, network, customers, and other requirements. Ensures configuration item status is always accurately maintained.

9 Proactively seeks out and provides input to technology and process improvements for Change and Configuration Management.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree


Minimum Experience: 3 to 5 years


Min Field Of Expertise: ITIL Foundations Certification desired. Experience with Configuration Management Database design and build. Experience with BMC Remedy or BMC Remedyforce, BMC Discovery, and PowerShell scripting desired. Experience with application and dependency modeling products. Advanced level quality assurance with Computer Science, Business or Systems Analyst, Systems Management background. Healthcare experience preferred.
