Compensation Specialist

General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director-Compensation, provides operational support to the Compensation Team, in particular with coordinating system and application administration, customer support, and administration of the performance management process. Provide project and maintenance support for Compensation-related functions and responsibilities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1 Coordinates and supports the organization performance management process by:

     a. System administration for the online performance management application.

     b. Maintaining job classifications and their related performance expectations in the performance evaluation application.

     c. Provides customer service and support for supervisors, managers and employees in the day-to-day application of the performance               evaluation system.

     d. Monitors late evaluations and works with delinquent managers/supervisors to improve timeliness.

     e. Provides guidance with the completion of 90-day reviews.

     f. Images and links completed performance evaluation forms to employee files.

 

2 Advises managers and supervisors with completion and submission of merit personnel action forms (PAFs).

 

3 Maintains e-forms and job descriptions on the Human Resources website. Builds and maintains reference material on related internal and external websites.

 

4 Maintaining and updating compensation databases. Consults with Compensation and/or HRIS Analysts regarding problems with programming and data integrity and participates in the system enhancement process.

 

5 Provide project support for Compensation Team.

 

6 Supports the Compensation Analysts to generate reports and documentation to support changes and recommendations made by the Compensation Team.

 

7 Assists the Compensation Analysts with salary surveys by extracting and compiling pertinent data to complete survey questionnaires.

 

8 Coordinates and supports the preparation of job classification/compensation practices crosswalks for acquired entities.

 

9 Assists with explaining compensation policy and systems to managers/supervisors.

 

10 Collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes, as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

Note: Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

 

Minimum Education:  Associate degree

 

Preferred Education:  B.S. or B.A. in related field, preferable HR, Business, or IT related.

 

Minimum Experience 1 - 2 years. Experience with IT systems/applications such as SuccessFactors or Lawson would be ideal.
