Cogito Analyst - Remote
Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Manager-Cogito, the Cogito Analyst will be responsible for supporting the triage, creation, troubleshooting, security, distribution, and support of Analytic Reporting using the native Epic reporting tools. Working within WellSpan’s Analytics Center of Excellence the Cogito Analyst will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver robust insights, analysis, and analytical reporting to support ongoing problem solving while leveraging Cogito functionality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to configure and tests Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications, including but not limited to Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer data models, Radar Dashboards, Epic Metrics framework, SQL-based reports and Epic Registry Framework.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to understands and documents the needs of data consumers. Determines most appropriate reporting tool for new data needs.
- Ability to create, test and deliver SQL-based and non-SQL based solution
- Ability to create analytic content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle leveraging Cogito Tools Modifies existing reports, as necessary
- Distributes analytics content to data consumers
- Reviews peer reports for validity
- Maintains the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records
- Participates in the development and maintenance of standards and policies related to Cogito Administration and security including but not limited to: Designing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise-wide Reporting Workbench, Radar and SlicerDicer security policy; Managing Reporting Workbench templates and creating or authorizing the creation of any new templates; racking Reporting Workbench template build; Coordinating technical implementation of overall data segregation strategy
- Tests analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments
- Reviews upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determines how to implement, disseminate, and train the changes. Participates in testing/training of upgrades as applicable to established reports and dashboards developed
- Participates in Agile Framework
- Prioritizes well, shows energy, reacts to opportunities, instills urgency in others and meets deadlines.
Qualifications
- Notes:
- Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
- Minimum Experience:
- 5 - 8 years with Epic Application Build or Reporting. Experience writing analytical reports with Clarity and Caboodle Data
- Access Data and Business knowledge preferred
- Min Field of Expertise: Healthcare, Analytics, Information Systems
- Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, or healthcare administration
- Preferred Certification:
- Trained in Epic application fundamentals for area of responsibility, and Familiarity with content available for the applications they are working with
- Required Courses:
- Certified in Cogito Fundamentals, Cogito Tools Administration, and one Epic Data Model, Trained in Cogito SQL, SQL Metrics, SlicerDicer Custom Filters
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Critical thinking and an analytical mind. Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of data models through classes geared toward content areas; Ability to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environment; Ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and clearly communicate solutions. Proficient with SQL and Cogito functionality (Clarity, Caboodle, Radar, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Epic Metrics framework, Epic Registries). Expert with relational database concepts and data analysis.
